A data analyst and a data scientist both work with data, but their roles differ in scope and complexity. A data analyst focuses on collecting, cleaning, and interpreting data to generate reports, dashboards, and insights that support business decisions. Their work is mainly descriptive, answering “what happened” and “why.” A data scientist, by contrast, builds predictive models and uses advanced techniques like machine learning and statistical modeling to forecast trends, identify patterns, and solve complex problems. Their role is more technical, requiring programming, AI, and big data expertise. In short, data analysts explain the past, while data scientists predict the future.

A Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) is a senior executive responsible for developing and implementing a company’s sustainability strategy. Swarun Selvakumar joined the MSc in Global Sales Excellence in September 2024, a program dedicated to building sales leaders and covering modern-day sales methodologies in digital sales and strategies to change management and sales enablement. Sales enablement, an emerging discipline in recent years, involves providing sales teams with the resources, training, and tools they need to sell more effectively.
Prior to this, Swarun amassed 3 years of experience as a Senior Business Development Executive, helping startups scale their revenue in India. Recently, he secured a position as a Sales Enablement Executive at Dimo Maint in Limonest, near Lyon, France.
